Last updated: July 17, 2026 · Applies to the Lunaty Health Protocol app
Short version: By default, your health data never leaves your device. Everything you enter — stress scores, habit logs, sleep and mood data — is stored exclusively in your browser's local storage. If you opted in to our optional anonymous analytics programme during onboarding, only your anonymized assessment scores (no name, email, or device ID) may be shared with Lunaty to help improve the protocol. You can withdraw this consent at any time.
Lunaty is a Canadian health education company co-founded by Dr. Mahshad Kolahdouzan (Neuroscience PhD) and Maryam Ghaderian (RHN). We develop science-backed wellness protocols to support stress physiology and long-term metabolic health.

The Lunaty app collects the following information, stored only on your device (browser localStorage):
| Data | Purpose | Stored where |
|---|---|---|
| Your name (waiver) | Typed signature for informed consent | Your device only |
| PSS-10 stress scores | Baseline and progress tracking | Your device only |
| Symptom baseline scores | Tracking physical symptom changes | Your device only |
| Daily habit completions | Habit tracking, streaks, compliance | Your device only |
| Daily sleep, stress & mood ratings | Wellness trend charts in the Tracker | Your device only |
| Protocol start date | Calculating your current week and phase | Your device only |
| PSS-10 and symptom scores — anonymized (optional, if you opted in) | Protocol improvement and aggregated community research | Lunaty servers — no personal identifiers attached |
We do not collect your email address, IP address, or device identifiers. The login screen is a local gate only — no credentials are transmitted to any server.
During onboarding you had the option to participate in Lunaty's anonymous research programme. If you opted in, your assessment scores only (PSS-10 stress scores and symptom ratings) may be collected and transmitted to Lunaty in anonymized form to evaluate protocol effectiveness.
What is included: Assessment scores and relative timing (e.g., "Week 1 baseline," "Week 4 mid-point") only.
What is never included: Your name, email address, IP address, device identifiers, or any information that could identify you individually.
How findings are used: Aggregated, anonymized results may be reported publicly — for example, "X% of participants showed improvement in sleep scores by Week 6." Individual results are never disclosed.
Withdrawing consent: You can change your analytics preference at any time via the Account or Dashboard settings page. Withdrawal is immediate and applies to all future data; it does not affect scores already shared.
If you did not opt in during onboarding, none of your data is ever transmitted and your experience remains fully local.
Stress scores, symptom ratings, sleep duration, and mood data are considered sensitive personal health information under both PIPEDA (Canada) and GDPR (EU/UK). For users who did not opt into the anonymous analytics programme, this data is stored exclusively on your device and never transmitted — the legal exposure is minimal. You are keeping your own health journal; we provide the structure.
For users who opted into the analytics programme, only anonymized assessment scores are transmitted. No sensitive habit, sleep, or mood data is ever shared. Explicit, informed consent for both local storage and the optional analytics opt-in is collected at Step 2 of onboarding.
The weekly educational videos are hosted on YouTube (Google LLC). You can choose to play a video directly on this page or open it on YouTube's own platform — either way, YouTube may collect data about your viewing activity under Google's own privacy policy, independently of Lunaty.
YouTube tracking does not activate until you choose to play or open a video — nothing loads from YouTube's servers before that click. Videos played on this page use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), which limits tracking cookies unless you interact with the video. You can review Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
This app does not use cookies. It uses browser localStorage to persist your progress data between sessions, and to hold a randomly generated identifier so we can recognize a returning visitor's browser. localStorage stores data on your device only — it is not accessible to other websites.
Marketing attribution: the first time you visit, we record which link or campaign brought you here (for example, a Facebook or Instagram ad, or a search engine) and your first landing page, so we can measure which marketing channels are working. This is stored only in our own database, is never shared with Facebook, Google, or any other third party, and is never linked to your health, habit, or assessment data. No third-party analytics tools, advertising pixels, or tracking SDKs are loaded by this app.
You have the following rights regarding your data:
Because Lunaty does not receive or store your data on any server, we cannot fulfil data requests on your behalf — your data exists only on your own device.
Your data persists in localStorage until you (a) delete it via the in-app "Delete All My Data" button, (b) clear your browser's site data, or (c) uninstall the browser. Lunaty holds no copy and cannot recover deleted data.
This protocol is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18.
If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Because we do not hold your email address, we cannot notify you directly — please check this page periodically.
